Art: This collection was designed from a digital restored, color enhanced image of an antique latin Medical book (ca. 1823) Chromolithograph by Italian physician and anatomist Paolo Mascagni (25 January 1755 Pomarance-19 October 1815 Chiusdino, Italy, aged 60) and Andrea Vaccà Berlinghieri (1772-1826). Paolo Mascagni Most well known for publishing the first complete description of the lymphatic system. Mascagni was Prosector of Anatomy at the University of Siena, which meant he was responsible for leading dissection for demonstration and research. His “Anatomia Universa” was a comprehensive work of anatomy with forty-four hand colored plates. Please Note: All my goodies are created in smoke free little cottage. Our items are handmade. Therefore, the appearance and the size may vary slightly due to the handcrafted nature of items. The photos I take closely represent the colors, however some slight differences can occur due to website uploading and monitor settings. It is also useful to know that the images in this shop are scans of antique art and therefore may show varying levels of age, wear and tear. Originals are often printed on parchment/paper or my faves engravings that is not the modern quality of today leaving a texture to the image or paint. As our art gifts are made from extremely vintage/antique prints, it will almost inevitably show some signs of age, discoloration and wear. I prefer not to alter any of these, I’m an old soul and believe this is part of their unique charm.
